Property Description
Escape to the Lookout at Big Basin, an off-grid haven surrounded by 360° views of sweeping landscapes and the Pacific Ocean, with all the modern amenities of home and easy proximity to Silicon Valley. This mountain sanctuary is perched on the highest ridge in the range, and every detail has been designed for sustainability without sacrificing comfort, including a fully-owned solar array - sufficient to charge an electric vehicle - and fast satellite internet at the luxury modular home onsite. Overlooking the old-growth forests of Big Basin Redwoods State Park (which borders two sides of the property) and surrounded by thousands of acres of uninhabited land, this site is the perfect serene getaway, with recreational opportunities including hiking sunny trails inaccessible to the public. Accessed year-round via private road, two separate gates encourage isolation, peace, and immersion in nature. Whale-watching in the morning, panoramic picnics in the afternoon, and spotting ships on the horizon at sunset. Once considered as a site to build a private observatory, the dark skies here are ideal for stargazing. This turn-key property offers the freedom of a self-reliant retreat and is a rare opportunity to own this truly one-of-a-kind trophy destination in the Bay Area.
